In 2026, the Santo Tomás de Castilla Free Zone for
Industry and Trade (ZOLIC) reaffirms its position
as a regional leader in trade facilitation by operating under rigorous
international standards that guarantee security, traceability, and efficiency
throughout the logistics chain.

This support is based on the
acquisition and maintenance of key certifications such as the Business Alliance for
Secure Commerce (BASC), the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO-GT) program, and
compliance with the International Ship and Port Facility Security
Code (ISPS), standards that validate the robustness of its
processes, controls, and institutional management.
In the case of BASC 2026, ZOLIC
achieved recertification for the third consecutive year as a result of a
comprehensive process that evaluated control systems, risk management,
traceability of operations, and the security of people, information, and facilities.
This recognition guarantees that operations within the government-owned premises are
conducted in accordance with the principles of integrity, transparency, and control, thereby reducing
risks in the supply chain and strengthening the confidence of
international markets.
Meanwhile, the verification of the
OAS-GT program, approved for the eighth consecutive year, confirms sustained compliance
with standards in customs control, trade facilitation, and
logistics security. This validation ensures that ZOLIC has reliable processes,
adequate infrastructure, and efficient operational controls that
contribute to a more streamlined and secure flow of trade.
Added to this is the
PBIP 2026 Compliance Statement, which certifies that the institution operates
in accordance with international provisions regarding port
and maritime security. Since 2014, this standard has served as ZOLIC’s guarantee
of the implementation of measures to prevent risks that could affect
the security of its facilities, operations, and international trade.
Taken together, these
certifications position ZOLIC as a logistics platform that not only
complies with international standards but also incorporates procedures and measures
designed to ensure safe, efficient, and competitive foreign trade.
This approach strengthens the
confidence of investors, users, and business partners, while
positioning Guatemala as a reliable destination for the development of
