ZOLIC RENEWS BASC CERTIFICATION 2025-2026

The “Santo Tomás de Castilla” Free Zone of Industry and Commerce ZOLIC has renewed its BASC certification (Business Alliance for Secure Commerce) for the period 2025-2026, after successfully complying with the strict security and control standards required by BASC. ZOLIC has been operating under this certification since March 2023, consolidating its commitment to safe and efficient trade.

This certification is essential to guarantee the integrity of the supply chain in international trade, reducing the risks associated with illicit activities such as smuggling and illegal trafficking of goods. In addition, BASC provides a framework of confidence for domestic and foreign investors, ensuring that operations in ZOLIC are safe and efficient, which fosters the growth of trade in Guatemala.

Compliance with BASC international standards also facilitates trade relations with demanding markets, improving Guatemala's competitiveness in global trade. For ZOLIC users, BASC certification translates into safer and more agile logistics processes, contributing to the economic development of the region and attracting new investments.

The certifications with which ZOLIC operates, such as BASC, contribute significantly to the interlocking of the institutions directly or indirectly linked to the national port system, strengthening inter-institutional relations and guaranteeing a harmonized operation between key actors such as the Tax Administration Superintendency (SAT), the General Customs Directorate and the Port of Santo Tomás de Castilla. This ensures a more secure, agile and competitive commercial environment for all involved.

The renewal of this certification reinforces ZOLIC's commitment to safer, more reliable and efficient trade, ensuring that all actors involved in maritime-port activities can operate in a secure and competitive environment.
